When Life Hits All at Once: How to Stay Grounded in Chaos
There are seasons in life when everything seems to happen at once.
Not one challenge. Not two. But a wave of moments—some beautiful, some painful, all overwhelming.
Lately, I’ve found myself in one of those seasons. Navigating family dynamics, planning a wedding, facing sickness, and grieving loss—all at the same time. And if I’m being honest, there were days I didn’t feel strong, grounded, or put together.
I just felt… human.
And if you’re in a season like this too, I want you to know something important:
You are not failing. You are responding to an overwhelming moment in your life.
Why These Seasons Feel So Heavy
When multiple life events collide, your nervous system doesn’t get a break. Even “good” things—like weddings or new beginnings—require emotional energy.
Stack that on top of grief, stress, or family tension, and suddenly you’re carrying more than you were ever meant to hold alone.
How to Stay Grounded (Even When Everything Feels Like Too Much)
Here are a few things that helped me—and that I now share with my clients who are navigating similar seasons:
1. Lower the bar (yes, really).
This is not the time for perfection. This is the time for survival, stability, and small wins.
2. Anchor into one daily constant.
Whether it’s your morning coffee, a short walk, or a few quiet minutes—give yourself one thing that feels steady.
3. Let yourself feel without fixing everything.
You don’t need to solve your entire life in one day. Sometimes, processing one emotion at a time is enough.
4. Ask for support—even if it feels uncomfortable.
You were never meant to carry heavy seasons alone.
